MIMI JULIANO

Singer. Songwriter. Performer

Ever since I can remember I have been inspired to sing because of my father, Pat Juliano, who was a professional musician. My father was influenced by Ray Charles, Satchmo, Tony Bennet, Gladys Knight…I inherited a soulful, bluesy style with a rock edge. I’ve worked as a singer in various venues throughout the New York metro area including Catch a Rising Star, The Bottom Line, My Father's Place, Kenny’s Castaway, The Village Vanguard, The Blue Note The Bitter End, and more. Ed Lowe, journalist, described my performances as powerful, deeply connecting with listeners on an emotional level due to its expressive vocals and passionate delivery. My original songs and lyrics often address personal struggles and experiences of love, loss, and resilience which connect with my audience. Although music is my passion, I work as a speech language pathologist. Incorporating melodic intonation therapy into treatment with neurologically impaired adults has proven effective in eliciting language. Many patients improve and attend my gigs!
